Te mapa
Etobicoke is the western part of Toronto, and two waterways define its edges. The Humber River runs along the east side in a deep green valley, and Etobicoke Creek marks the western boundary with Mississauga. To the south lies the shore of Lake Ontario, while the district stretches a long way north, close to Pearson Airport.
It was a separate city until the Toronto amalgamation of 1998. Its lakeshore neighbourhoods, such as Mimico, New Toronto and Long Branch, grew as small communities of their own along the water. Humber Bay Shores, with its new towers and parks, now stands at the south-eastern corner.
An Etobicoke map poster shows the contrast between the tight, grid-like lakeshore streets and the curving suburban crescents further north. Highways 427 and the Gardiner Expressway cross the map as broad lines, and the parks along the Humber valley run like a green ribbon.

Small older neighbourhoods along Lake Ontario have a tighter street grid. They are a clear contrast with the larger, curving suburban blocks inland.
Highway 427 and the Gardiner Expressway cut across the district. Their broad interchanges are bold shapes on the map.

Koteā ko Etobicoke
Etobicoke is where many Toronto families bought their first house, raised children or settled after arriving in Canada. A map of those streets, from the lake to the northern crescents, makes a strong housewarming or moving gift.
Put a street name or a move-in date in the title, add the neighbourhood in the subtitle, and set exact coordinates for the house. There are five styles to choose from, and each works well on a large wall.
