Te mapa
Ganderkesee is in Lower Saxony, between Delmenhorst, Bremen and Oldenburg. It is a large municipality made up of the main village and several smaller settlements, so the map shows a scattered pattern of village centres set among fields, meadows and forest. The land is mostly flat, typical of the North German lowlands.
The A28 motorway between Bremen and Oldenburg runs through the area and forms a strong diagonal line. One well-known feature of the landscape is the Hasbruch, an old forest known for its very old oaks and hornbeams. In a Ganderkesee map poster, that woodland appears as a large, quiet area among the lines of roads and field boundaries.
The municipality is also known in the region for its large carnival, which is unusual in northern Germany. On the map, however, Ganderkesee is defined by its calm rural structure. There are compact housing areas around each village centre, small roads linking them and wide spaces of farmland and forest between them. It gives the poster a light, spacious rhythm.

The motorway between Bremen and Oldenburg crosses the municipality as a clean diagonal and provides a strong line against the scattered villages.
Ganderkesee is made up of several small centres. Each one is a compact cluster of streets separated by fields and connected by country roads.
