Te mapa
Gaoulou lies in the Bas-Sassandra District of southwestern Ivory Coast, in humid lowland country where forest and plantation meet. It is a small, working town. From above, it forms a cluster of streets and compounds around its main roads, with the edges fading gradually into farmland and tree cover. The layout grew from local needs rather than a plan.
This part of Ivory Coast is central to the country's farming economy, and cocoa has shaped much of the Bas-Sassandra landscape. Towns such as Gaoulou act as gathering points where roads converge and produce is collected. Around them, a network of tracks leads out to the smaller settlements and fields that surround them.
A Gaoulou map poster renders the town as a clear core surrounded by a web of roads and paths. The main routes cross the frame in long lines, and smaller tracks branch between them toward compounds and plots. It is a modest, quiet composition. It is meaningful to anyone with family ties to this corner of the country.
The town takes shape where its main roads meet, and the densest streets and compounds cluster close to that junction.
Unpaved paths spread outward from the built-up area to fields and outlying settlements, drawing a fine, irregular web around the core.
Beyond the last buildings, the map opens into wide, lightly marked areas of farmland and tree cover typical of the southwestern lowlands.

Koteā ko Gaoulou
Gaoulou rarely appears on posters, which makes a map of it all the more personal. It is for people who grew up there, for family members living abroad and for anyone who wants a real place from Bas-Sassandra on their wall.
