Flat Mithila plain
The land is almost perfectly flat. Roads and field boundaries spread out without much need to bend, which gives the map an open, even texture.

Te mapa
Ghogardiha is a small town in northern Bihar, in the Mithila region near the border with Nepal. The land here is almost completely flat, part of the wide Gangetic plain. It is crossed by rivers coming down from the Himalayas, which have shifted their courses many times. From above, the town is a small cluster of lanes set in open farmland.
The countryside around Mithila is dotted with ponds and small villages linked by narrow roads. On the map, these appear as scattered clusters and small water shapes around the town. The region is widely known for Mithila painting, a folk art tradition of fine lines and patterns.
A Ghogardiha map poster is a simple, honest picture of a small north Indian town and its landscape. It is mainly for people with family ties to the area and does not try to make the place into more than it is: streets, fields, ponds and the roads between them.
The land is almost perfectly flat. Roads and field boundaries spread out without much need to bend, which gives the map an open, even texture.
Small ponds and bodies of water are scattered around the town and nearby villages. They form small, solid shapes among the thin road lines.
The town's lanes form a denser cluster, and smaller villages appear as scattered points connected by narrow rural roads.

Koteā ko Ghogardīha
For families from Mithila, especially those who have moved away, this map is a way to keep the place close. Its fine, scattered lines also look good on a wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a date or text in Maithili or Hindi, and set the coordinates line. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
