Te mapa
Giżycko stands on a narrow strip of land between two large lakes, Niegocin to the south and Kisajno to the north, in the heart of the Masurian Lake District. Few towns are so clearly shaped by water. On the map, the town fills the isthmus, the lakes spread out on either side, and canals cut through the land to link one lake with the next.
The Łuczański Canal runs through the town centre and is crossed by a rare swing bridge that is still turned by hand to let boats pass. On the western edge stands Boyen Fortress, a nineteenth-century Prussian stronghold whose star-shaped ramparts are clearly visible from above as a sharp geometric form.
Giżycko is one of Poland's main sailing centres, and in summer its harbours fill with boats heading across the Great Masurian Lakes. A Giżycko map poster shows the town as it is lived: a small grid of streets set between wide expanses of water, with canals, marinas and fortress walls marking its edges.

The canal cuts through the centre and connects the lakes. Its hand-operated swing bridge is one of the town's best-known sights.
The star-shaped ramparts of this nineteenth-century fortress stand out west of the centre. Their angular outline is a striking detail in black and white.

Koteā ko Giżycko
Giżycko means summers on the water for many people: sailing trips, lake crossings and evenings at the marina. A map of the town makes a good reminder of those seasons, with the lakes and canals shown as clearly as the streets.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a boat name or a summer year, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files are $9 in six sizes, and printed posters can come in an optional wooden frame.
