Te mapa
Gombe sits in the savanna of northeastern Nigeria, and on a map it reads as a crossroads town. Major roads come in from several directions and meet in the older centre, where the lanes are tighter and less regular. Around that core, newer neighbourhoods follow a looser, more planned pattern, with broad plots, government compounds and long roads that fade into farmland and scrub at the edges.
The city became a state capital in 1996, when Gombe State was carved out of Bauchi State, and much of its modern footprint dates from the decades since. Ministries, schools and markets were added to what had been a smaller emirate town, and the drawing shows that layering: an older, denser heart surrounded by wider streets laid out for an administrative role.
A Gombe map poster reduces all of this to line and space. Without colour, the difference between the compact centre and the open districts becomes the main subject, and the road network carries the composition out toward the frame. It is a quiet, graphic portrait of a young capital that is still growing, printed at the scale you choose.
Roads from neighbouring states meet in Gombe, and on the poster they appear as strong lines drawing the eye inward toward the older centre from every side of the frame.
The historic part of town shows a finer, less regular grain of lanes and compounds, a clear contrast with the straighter, more widely spaced streets built after 1996.
At the city limits the street pattern thins out into farmland and savanna, so the poster gains a soft, fraying border instead of a hard urban edge.
