Te mapa
Jalingo lies in the savanna country of northeastern Nigeria. It became the capital of Taraba State when the state was created in 1991. On a map, the city looks young and still growing: main roads link government districts, markets and residential areas, and newer neighbourhoods spread out along them into open land.
The city's layout reflects its administrative role, with wider roads and planned areas around government institutions, while older quarters have a denser and more informal pattern. Streams and seasonal watercourses cross the surrounding land, and hills rise in the wider area, adding relief to an otherwise open landscape.
A Jalingo map poster shows a capital in the process of taking shape. The composition is open, with clear main roads, clusters of denser streets and plenty of space between them. In black and white, it has a light, spacious character that contrasts with the dense grids of older Nigerian cities.
A few main roads carry the city's structure, linking the centre with government areas and leading out across the surrounding savanna.
Denser, more irregular clusters of streets mark the older parts of the town, forming the most detailed areas of the map.
Space between neighbourhoods and the open land around the city give the poster a light composition, crossed by thin streams.

Koteā ko Jalingo
For people from Taraba State, for those who have worked or studied in Jalingo, or for families who have moved abroad, the poster is a personal reminder of home. It records a city that has changed quickly in a generation.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a greeting. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand gives the savanna setting a warm tone.
