Te mapa
Jimeta is the northern, commercial half of the twin city it forms with Yola, the capital of Adamawa State in northeastern Nigeria. On the map its position is defined by the Benue River, which flows along its northern side through a wide floodplain. The town's streets spread south from the riverside, with older neighbourhoods near the markets and newer districts extending toward Yola.
The street network combines a loose grid in the central areas with more irregular growth at the edges, where roads follow the land rather than a plan. A long bridge carries the main road north across the Benue, and the seasonal rise and fall of the river shapes the open ground along its banks. Beyond the built-up area, farmland and scattered settlements fill the surrounding plain.
Jimeta carries much of the commercial and administrative activity of the Yola area, which is also home to universities including Modibbo Adama University and the American University of Nigeria. A Jimeta map poster captures the relationship between the town and its river in a clean, simple image that leaves room for the landscape around it.

A long bridge carries the main road across the river toward the north, a clean straight line drawn over the water and the open ground on either bank.
Jimeta's streets continue southward into Yola, and together the two form a single urban area whose outline shows how a river trading town and a state capital grew together.
