Te mapa
Guanabacoa lies inland from Havana Bay, east of the old city. It is one of the oldest settlements in the Havana area and developed as a town in its own right long before the capital grew out to meet it. On a map that independence is still visible: Guanabacoa has its own compact historic core, separate from the grid of central Havana.
The streets in the old centre are narrow and slightly irregular, bending with the gentle hills and opening onto small squares next to colonial churches. Further out, newer neighbourhoods and roads link the town to the rest of the metropolitan area. The layout loosens as the land rises and the ground becomes greener.
Guanabacoa is widely known as a centre of Afro-Cuban religious and cultural traditions, and its music and ceremonies have a reputation well beyond Havana. A Guanabacoa map poster gives a more permanent form to a place with a strong sense of itself, drawn as a small, self-contained street pattern on the edge of a large city.
A tight cluster of colonial-era streets and plazas. On the poster it reads as a dense knot distinct from the grid of central Havana.
The town sits on low hills east of the bay, and its roads curve and fork with the slopes instead of following a strict grid.
Main roads run west toward the bay and the capital, connecting Guanabacoa to the city while its own outline stays clear.

Koteā ko Guanabacoa
People with family ties to Guanabacoa, in Cuba or elsewhere, often want a picture of the town that is theirs rather than one of Havana as a whole. A map does that, and it avoids the usual postcard views.
Add a family name, a year or the coordinates of a particular street, then choose Paper or Sand for warmth or Classic black & white for contrast. Download print-ready HD files, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
