Te mapa
Guder is in the West Shewa highlands of Oromia, on the main road that runs west from Addis Ababa toward Ambo and beyond. The town is laid out mainly along that road. The busiest streets follow the highway, and smaller streets branch into residential areas. The river after which the town is named runs past it, cutting a valley into the plateau.
The Guder River is best known for Guder Falls, where the water drops over a rocky edge into the gorge below. It is a popular stop for travellers heading west from the capital. The surrounding highlands are farming country, with fields of teff, wheat and other crops across the rolling land and scattered homesteads linked by footpaths.
A Guder map poster shows a town built around one main road. The highway forms a strong line, the side streets branch off it, and the river's course winds past the edge of town. It is a clear portrait of a highland town in central Ethiopia, shaped by its road and its river.
The road west from Addis Ababa runs through Guder, forming the town's main axis, with the densest streets and buildings arranged along both sides.
The river flows past the town and drops at Guder Falls into a rocky gorge, adding a winding natural line to the map's composition.
Rolling fields and scattered homesteads surround the town, so the poster's edges are open and lightly marked with paths and small roads.
