Te mapa
Gwadabawa is a town and local government area in Sokoto State, in the far northwest of Nigeria, not far from the border with Niger. This is Sahel country: open, mostly flat land with a long dry season, where farming depends on the rains and settlements are spaced out across wide stretches of cultivated ground.
From above, the town appears as a compact, dense cluster of compounds and lanes, with a few broader roads cutting through it. The street pattern is irregular, shaped by the way homes and walled compounds have grown together over time, and it thins quickly into farmland and tracks that head across the plain toward neighbouring villages.
A Gwadabawa map poster draws out that contrast between a close-knit centre and the openness around it. The fine texture of compounds and paths sits against a wide, spacious background, and the main roads leading away give the composition direction. It is a restrained, respectful image of a northern Nigerian town.
The core of the town is a tight mesh of lanes between compounds, producing a detailed, irregular texture that stands out on the map.
A main road runs through the town and on across the region, giving the poster a strong, clear line through the centre.
Around the settlement the map opens up into farmland and tracks, leaving wide pale spaces that emphasise the town's compact shape.
