Te mapa
Haining lies on the northern shore of the Qiantang River estuary, where the river widens towards Hangzhou Bay. The land is almost completely flat, and from above it is covered in a fine network of canals and streams between towns and fields. The estuary forms a wide, pale edge to the south, lined by long sea walls that appear as clean straight lines.
Haining is best known for the Qiantang tidal bore, a wave that runs up the estuary against the river's flow and draws large crowds each autumn, especially at Yanguan. The city is also a major centre of the leather industry, and it is the hometown of several well-known writers, including the poet Xu Zhimo and the novelist Jin Yong.
A Haining map poster captures a very particular landscape: water everywhere in fine lines, a large estuary edge, and a modern street grid laid over old waterways. The result is detailed without being crowded, and the estuary gives the composition a strong base.
The broad estuary runs along the southern edge of the map, lined by sea walls, and is where the famous tidal bore travels upstream.
Canals and streams cross the flat land in every direction, forming a delicate pattern typical of the lower Yangtze delta region.
Near the estuary, the historic town of Yanguan has a small, dense street pattern and is a traditional viewing point for the tidal bore.

Koteā ko Haining
Haining appeals to readers of Jin Yong and Xu Zhimo, to anyone who has watched the tidal bore, and to families with roots here. The mix of canals and estuary makes a detailed, calm image that holds up well at larger sizes.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, perhaps with the date you saw the bore. Blueprint suits the canal lines well, while Noir makes the estuary edge stand out. Choose a $9 digital download or a printed poster shipped from a local partner.
