Te mapa
Hājīganj lies in the Chandpur district of eastern Bangladesh, on the low, water-rich plain of the delta. The Dakatia River passes through the town, and on a map its curves set the direction for roads, markets and neighbourhoods. The built area is dense near the river and the main road, loosening into villages and paddy land further out.
Ponds are everywhere, appearing as small rectangles among houses and trees, and canals and embankments add further lines across the flat terrain. A Hājīganj map poster turns this watery texture into a detailed composition, where the river and the many small bodies of water matter as much as the streets.
The town is best known for the Hajiganj Boro Mosque, one of the largest and most visited mosques in the region, with a tall minaret that rises above the surrounding streets. Hājīganj is also a busy market town for the Chandpur area, connected by road to the district seat and to Cumilla.
The river curves through the town. It is the strongest natural line on the map and the axis along which much of Hājīganj has grown.
Small ponds scattered between houses and fields create a distinctive dotted pattern, typical of the Bangladeshi delta and striking in black and white.
The centre of town, around the market and the great mosque, forms the densest cluster of streets, a clear focal point for the composition.
