Te mapa
Hāsimāra is in Alipurduar district in northern West Bengal, in the Dooars. This belt of plains sits at the foot of the Himalaya, close to the border with Bhutan. The map mixes very different shapes: a compact town along the main road and railway, the geometric outlines of tea gardens, and the wide, braided beds of rivers coming down from the hills.
The town is known for Hasimara Air Force Station, whose runway and facilities form one of the largest single features on the map. To the southwest lies Jaldapara National Park, a protected grassland and forest area known for its one-horned rhinoceros. The border town of Jaigaon, across from Phuentsholing in Bhutan, is a short distance away.
A Hāsimāra map poster combines several landscapes in one frame. There is the linear bazaar, the ordered plots of the tea estates and the large rectangle of the airfield. Around them, river channels spread across the plain. Each layer has a different texture, which makes this small town a surprisingly rich subject for a black-and-white map.
The long runway and base facilities of the Hasimara air station form a strong straight line on the map, very different from the organic shape of the town around it.
Tea estates surround the town in large, regular blocks, divided by estate roads and drainage lines. They give the Dooars their distinctive pattern from above.
Rivers flowing down from the Bhutan hills spread into wide, braided channels across the plain. Their beds form pale, shifting bands between the tea gardens.

Koteā ko Hāsimāra
Hāsimāra means different things to different people: an air force posting, a tea garden home, a stop on the way to Bhutan or Jaldapara. A map of the town brings all of that together in one frame.
Add a posting year, a unit name or a family name in the title and set the coordinates line. Choose from five styles. The $9 download includes a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF for all six sizes.
