Te mapa
Hohen Neuendorf lies immediately north of Berlin, in the Oberhavel district of Brandenburg, and today includes the neighbouring villages of Borgsdorf, Bergfelde and Stolpe. On a map it is mostly residential: villa colonies and garden suburbs with curving streets and large plots, set among pine and mixed forest that separates each part of town from the others.
For nearly three decades the Berlin Wall ran along the town's southern boundary. The border strip is now a path and green corridor, and one of the former border watchtowers still stands nearby. On a Hohen Neuendorf map poster that line is still readable as a clear edge between Berlin's Frohnau district and the Brandenburg suburbs.
The S-Bahn lines to Berlin cross the town in straight strokes, and the stations became natural centres for shops and services. Around them, streets loop and branch in the irregular way typical of early twentieth-century garden suburbs. Forest fills the gaps, so the town reads as a series of settlements linked by rail and road.
The route of the Berlin Wall along the southern edge survives as a trail and green strip. Nearby, a surviving watchtower recalls the divided decades.
Garden-suburb streets curve around generous plots, forming soft, looping patterns that contrast with the straight lines of the railway.
Rail lines cross the town in direct strokes, and each station forms a small hub around which the surrounding neighbourhood is organised.
