Te mapa
Huazhou is a county-level city under Maoming in southwestern Guangdong, set in a warm, green landscape of low hills and river plains. The Jian River runs through the urban area, and the map is organised around it. Streets and bridges gather along its banks, with the denser, older part of the city close to the water and newer districts spreading outward on wider grids.
The city is widely known for huajuhong, a pomelo whose peel is dried and used in traditional Chinese medicine, and across China the name Huazhou is closely tied to it. Around the city, orchards, rice fields and village clusters create a fine, irregular texture that frames the urban core.
A Huazhou map poster shows how the river shapes everything: the curve of water through the centre, the bridges stitching the two sides together, and the gradual change from compact streets to the looser roads of the countryside. It is a calm, balanced composition anchored by one strong line of river.
The river curves through the city and divides it into two banks joined by several bridges. It is the defining natural line of the whole map.
The older, denser streets sit close to the water. This fine-grained area of small blocks contrasts with the broad avenues of the newer districts.
Beyond the edge of town, fields, orchards and villages form a scattered pattern of small roads. This is the landscape where the city's well-known pomelo is grown.

Koteā ko Huazhou
For families from western Guangdong now living in the Pearl River Delta or overseas, Huazhou is a hometown worth marking. A minimalist map is a modern way to honour it, with the river running through the centre like a signature.
