Te mapa
Huizhou lies in eastern Guangdong, on the Dong River, also known as the East River, one of the main branches of the Pearl River system. From above, the river winds through the city in wide bends, joined by smaller tributaries. The urban area grows in clusters along the water rather than as a single dense block.
The old centre sits close to West Lake, a scenic lake with causeways and islands that has attracted poets and scholars for centuries. The Song dynasty writer Su Dongpo spent time in exile here, and his name is still linked to the lake. On the map, the lake and the river bends create soft, open shapes among the streets.
Beyond the centre, newer districts spread out on a more regular grid of wide roads, with hills and green spaces in between. The wider municipality reaches south to the coast at Daya Bay. A Huizhou map poster shows a city that is shaped less by straight lines and more by water.

Huizhou's West Lake lies near the old centre, with causeways and small islands. On the poster it appears as a soft, irregular shape among the surrounding blocks.
Away from the old centre, newer districts follow a wider, more regular road pattern, broken up by hills and open green land.

Huizhou is home to many families across Guangdong and beyond, and to people who have moved there for work. A map of its river bends and lakes gives a calm, recognisable picture of the city.
