Te mapa
Ihosy is the capital of the Ihorombe region in southern Madagascar. It stands at a key junction where the RN7, the main road between Antananarivo and Toliara, meets the road heading southeast toward Taolagnaro. On a map, the town looks like a compact grid set at a point where major routes converge across an open landscape.
The Ihosy River passes by the town, and the surrounding land is part of the Horombe plateau, a vast area of grassland used for cattle grazing. Streets thin out quickly at the edges, giving way to open country with scattered tracks. The composition is simple: a small urban centre surrounded by space.
The region is home to the Bara people, known for their cattle-herding traditions. Many travellers heading to Isalo National Park and the southwest pass through Ihosy along the RN7. An Ihosy map poster shows a place defined by roads and landscape, where the lines of travel matter as much as the streets.
The RN7 and the road toward the southeast meet here, giving the map strong converging lines that explain why the town grew where it did.
The river runs close to the town, adding a winding natural line that breaks the regularity of the streets beside it.
Around the town the plateau opens into wide grassland, leaving generous blank space and a sense of distance on the poster.

Koteā ko Ihosy
For travellers who crossed southern Madagascar on the RN7, Ihosy is a memorable stop between highlands and coast. For people from the region, it is home, drawn clearly and without clutter.
Write your own title and subtitle, perhaps a trip date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, which suits the dry plateau.
