Te mapa
Isla Mujeres lies a short ferry ride from Cancún across a calm, shallow bay. The island is very long and thin, with the Caribbean on its eastern side and sheltered water to the west. On a map it looks almost like a stroke of a pen, widening slightly at the north and narrowing to a point in the south.
The town occupies the northern tip. It is a tight grid of short streets between the ferry docks and Playa Norte, a wide sandy beach facing shallow turquoise water. Just south of the town, a lagoon opens in the middle of the island, and a single road runs down the length toward the southern end.
That southern end is Punta Sur, a rocky headland with the remains of a small Maya shrine associated with the goddess Ixchel and a view often described as the first sunrise in Mexico. An Isla Mujeres map poster runs from beach grid to cliff edge in one long, clean line.
The town packs a compact grid of streets into the island's northern tip, bounded by ferry piers on one side and the broad curve of Playa Norte on the other.
A lagoon opens on the western side of the island, south of the town, a pocket of calm water that makes the already narrow strip of land look thinner still.
The rocky southern tip holds the remains of a Maya shrine and marks the easternmost point in the country. On the map, the island ends here in a sharp point.

Koteā ko Isla Mujeres
For many people Isla Mujeres is where a wedding, honeymoon or long holiday happened, a slower place just across the water from Cancún. The map keeps that stretch of beach, town and cliff on the wall well after the trip ends.
Personalise the title, add a date in the subtitle and set the coordinates line as you wish. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand and Paper suit the beaches, while Noir makes the thin island stand out sharply.
