Te mapa
Itapicuru lies in north-eastern Bahia, in the interior of the state rather than on its long Atlantic coast. It shares its name with the Itapicuru River, one of the main rivers of this part of Bahia, which crosses the region in long curves. The built-up area is modest: a compact set of streets surrounded by open countryside.
The streets gather around a central area and extend along the roads leading out of town before fading into rural tracks. An Itapicuru map poster shows that simple structure clearly: a small core, a few routes leading outward and a wide margin of fields, pasture and scrub around it.
Much of the municipality is rural, with farms and small settlements scattered across the Bahia hinterland. In monochrome, the thin lines of country roads and the course of the river give the print a light, open texture. It looks very different from the dense grid of a large city and suits a quiet wall.
The river that gives the town its name winds through the surrounding land in long curves. It is the most natural and fluid line in the composition.
The built-up area is small and concentrated, so its streets and blocks can be read in detail. They form a clear cluster in the middle of the sheet.
Beyond the town, minor and unpaved roads branch through farmland and scrub. Their fine, irregular lines lead the eye out toward the edges of the print.
