Te mapa
Izberbash sits on the western shore of the Caspian Sea in Dagestan, on the narrow coastal plain between the water and the foothills of the Caucasus. From above, the town reads as a tidy block of streets pressed against a long, straight beach, with the railway and the main coastal road tracing lines parallel to the shore. Beyond the last houses, fields and low ridges take over.
The town grew in the Soviet period around oil extraction on the coast, and that planned origin shows in the map. Streets meet mostly at right angles, blocks are regular, and the centre does not wind the way older Caucasus settlements do. The Caspian edge is almost ruler-straight here, which gives any framing of the town a strong horizontal baseline.
An Izberbash map poster works best when the sea is allowed to take up a generous share of the sheet. The blank water on one side and the fine street grid on the other create a simple, balanced composition, and the foothills inland add a softer texture of roads and tracks thinning out toward open country.
A long, almost straight line of beach forms the eastern edge of the map, turning a large part of the poster into calm open water.
The railway and the coastal road run alongside the shore, drawing long lines that frame the town between the sea and the hinterland.
Regular blocks from the town's Soviet-era growth fill the centre, giving a clean, even texture that prints crisply at any size.

Koteā ko Izberbash
For people from Izberbash, or anyone who has spent summers on this stretch of the Dagestan coast, the map is a reminder of a place defined by the sea. The straight shoreline and neat grid read clearly even on a small wall.
