Te mapa
Jesús Menéndez is a municipality in the north of Las Tunas Province, and its main town was long known as Chaparra. The landscape is low and open, a plain of cane fields and pasture running toward the Atlantic coast. On the map the town forms a compact grid of streets, with roads and railway lines leading out across the countryside.
Its story is tied to sugar. Chaparra was home to one of the largest sugar mills in Cuba in the early twentieth century, and the town grew up to serve it, with workers' housing, rail sidings and service buildings arranged around the industrial core. That practical origin still shows in the straight streets and in the lines that once carried cane to the mill.
The municipality was later renamed in honour of Jesús Menéndez Larrondo, the sugar workers' union leader killed in 1948. A Jesús Menéndez map poster records a working landscape rather than a resort: a regular street grid, the traces of the railway and the broad fields between town and sea.
The central streets follow a regular grid, a typical Cuban town layout that renders as a neat, even pattern of blocks at the heart of the poster.
Railway lines built to move sugar cane cross the surrounding countryside in long, straight runs, a reminder of the industry that created the town.
Flat farmland stretches north toward the Atlantic, so the settlement sits as a compact cluster surrounded by open space and a few straight rural roads.

Koteā ko Jesús Menéndez
Jesús Menéndez means a great deal to families with roots in this part of eastern Cuba, including those who have since moved far away. A map of the town holds on to a specific place: the streets where grandparents grew up, worked the harvest or lived near the mill.
Set the title to Jesús Menéndez, Chaparra or both, add a subtitle and personal coordinates, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9.
