Manzanillo lies on the southeastern coast of Cuba, in Granma Province, facing the shallow Gulf of Guacanayabo. From above, the town is a regular colonial grid of square blocks running down to the water, where a seafront promenade follows the curve of the shore. The sea fills one whole side of the frame, calm and wide, with mangroves along parts of the coast.
At the centre lies Parque Céspedes, with a Moorish-style bandstand that has become the town's best-known image. Manzanillo is also famous in Cuba for its street organs, the órganos, which have been part of local music for generations. To the south, the land rises toward the Sierra Maestra, the mountains closely linked to the country's revolutionary history.
A Manzanillo map poster shows the simple beauty of a Caribbean port town: a tidy grid, a central square and the long line where the streets end at the gulf. It suits anyone with roots in Granma or memories of the eastern coast. The clarity of the layout carries well into every one of the five styles.

Square blocks and straight streets run down toward the water, a regular pattern typical of Spanish colonial towns in Cuba.
The main square with its Moorish-style bandstand sits at the heart of the grid, a small open space that anchors the whole composition.
