Te mapa
Jiangkou lies in the mountains of southeastern Chongqing, in the Wulong area, where the Furong River meets the Wu River. The name means river mouth, and the map explains it at once: the town occupies a narrow strip of land at the confluence, pressed between water and steep valley walls.
This part of Chongqing is known for its karst landscape, with deep gorges, limestone cliffs and caves. From above, the town's streets run in thin bands along the riverbanks, and roads and bridges cling to the slopes to connect it with the wider valley. Large parts of the map are simply river and mountainside.
A Jiangkou map poster is a study in constraint. The two rivers dominate, the town follows their curves, and the few roads trace ledges along the gorges. In black and white, the result looks almost like an ink drawing of a valley, with the settlement held in the space where the waters join.
The Furong and Wu rivers meet at Jiangkou, and their joining channels create the defining shape of the map and the town's position.
Streets and buildings line the banks in narrow strips, since the steep terrain leaves little flat land for the town to spread across.
Roads cut along the valley sides and cross the water on bridges, forming thin, winding lines through the karst mountains of Wulong.

Koteā ko Jiangkou
A Jiangkou map brings a dramatic landscape into a very quiet form: two rivers, a narrow town and steep valleys. It makes a meaningful print for someone from Chongqing and a striking one for anyone who has travelled through the Wulong gorges.
