Te mapa
Jieyang is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guangdong, part of the Chaoshan region together with Shantou and Chaozhou. Its urban centre lies along the Rong River, which winds across the plain towards the sea, and on the map the water divides the city into several districts linked by bridges. Around the centre, towns and villages spread across flat farmland.
The city shares Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport with its neighbours, and it is widely known for jade processing and trading, with workshops and markets that attract buyers from across China. Its older districts keep the dense street pattern typical of Chaoshan towns, while newer quarters follow wider, more regular roads laid out in recent decades.
A Jieyang map poster captures a city organised by water. The curving river and its branches, the bridges tying the districts together and the scattered villages beyond give the composition a relaxed, open feel. In black and white the balance between dense old neighbourhoods and open farmland becomes the main subject of the drawing.
The river winds through the centre of the city, dividing districts and giving the poster a strong curving line that everything else seems to follow.
The oldest neighbourhoods show the dense street pattern of the Chaoshan region, with narrow lanes that contrast with the newer, wider roads around them.
Beyond the centre, a pattern of towns, villages and fields spreads across the flat land, giving the edges of the map a lighter, more open texture.
