Te mapa
Jiguaní is a town in Granma Province in eastern Cuba, east of Bayamo on the Carretera Central, the island's long central highway. Like many Cuban towns it is built on a grid. Square blocks meet at right angles, and a central plaza and church anchor the middle. On a map, the regular pattern looks tidy and slightly formal against the farmland around it.
To the south the land rises towards the foothills of the Sierra Maestra, and the road network there becomes looser and more winding. To the north and west the ground is flatter, used for cattle and crops, and crossed by country roads and small streams. The town sits right where these two kinds of terrain meet.
A Jiguaní map poster is a portrait of a provincial Cuban town in its most typical form: grid, plaza, highway and fields. It will mean most to people who grew up there, or whose families left and kept the name in their stories. It is a clear, orderly print that feels calm on a wall.
Regular square blocks form the town centre. The plaza sits within the grid as a small open space at the heart of the map.
Cuba's central highway runs through the town, connecting it to Bayamo in the west and continuing east. It is the strongest line in the print.
South of town, the roads loosen and begin to follow the slopes rising towards the Sierra Maestra. They give the map a quieter, rural edge.

Koteā ko Jiguaní
Many Cuban families abroad keep a hometown in memory long after leaving it. A map of Jiguaní gives that memory a clear shape. The subtitle might carry a family name, and the coordinates line can mark the exact block.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand give the grid a warm, archival feel, while Classic keeps it sharp and graphic.
