Te mapa
Jorhat lies in upper Assam, south of the Brahmaputra, on a flat plain divided between rice fields and tea estates. The Bhogdoi river runs through the town, and from above its winding course cuts across the street network. The centre is compact, while residential areas spread outward among ponds, gardens and green spaces, giving much of the town an open, low-density appearance.
Jorhat is closely associated with tea. The Tocklai Tea Research Institute, one of the oldest tea research centres in the world, is located here, and tea gardens surround the town. Jorhat also serves as the usual starting point for trips to Majuli, the large river island in the Brahmaputra, reached by ferry from the nearby ghat.
A Jorhat map poster shows the town between river and plantations. The winding Bhogdoi, the main roads and the railway line define the structure, while the larger blocks of tea estates and fields surround it. In black and white, the map captures the calm, spread-out character of an Assamese town.
The small river winds through the town in a series of curves, adding a soft natural line that crosses the more regular streets of the centre.
Large plantation areas surround the town, appearing as broad open shapes with few roads, which frame the built-up area clearly on the poster.
Roads lead north from the town toward the Brahmaputra and the ferry to Majuli, connecting Jorhat with the river landscape beyond the edge of the map.

Koteā ko Jorhat
The Jorhat map is for people who studied or grew up here, families connected to the tea gardens, and travellers who passed through on the way to Majuli. It gives a clear, quiet picture of the town and its setting.
Add a title, a subtitle and the coordinates, then choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Paper or Sand. Digital HD files cost $9, and matte printed posters are available with an optional wooden frame.
