Te mapa
Julianadorp lies in the far north of North Holland, part of the municipality of Den Helder. It was founded in the early twentieth century and named after Princess Juliana, later Queen of the Netherlands. The original village developed on reclaimed land, and it has since grown into a large residential community with holiday parks along the coast.
The map shows two landscapes side by side. To the west, a band of dunes separates the village from a long North Sea beach, with paths winding through the sand. To the east, flat polder land is divided by straight ditches and roads, the characteristic geometry of Dutch reclamation.
A Julianadorp map poster brings those elements together: the loops and cul-de-sacs of newer neighbourhoods, the ruled lines of the polder and the soft irregular texture of the dunes. It is a quiet, very Dutch composition, framed on one side by the sea.
A wide belt of dunes runs along the western edge, crossed by winding footpaths and cycle routes that lead to the beach.
East of the village, drainage ditches and roads divide the land into long rectangles, a precise pattern typical of reclaimed land.
Newer neighbourhoods are laid out with curving streets and closes, contrasting with the straight lines of the older roads and fields.
