Te mapa
Kaizu is at the southern tip of Gifu Prefecture, on the flat delta where three major rivers, the Kiso, the Nagara and the Ibi, flow close together toward Ise Bay. Much of the land here is very low, some of it below the level of the rivers. For centuries communities protected themselves with wajū, rings of embankment built around villages and fields.
From above, the rivers dominate. Wide parallel channels run north to south, separated by long, narrow strips of land and lined with levees. Between them lie field patterns, drainage channels and small settlements. The town streets form small clusters within a landscape shaped by water engineering.
A Kaizu map poster clearly shows this relationship between people and rivers: three broad bands of water, embankment lines and the tidy geometry of reclaimed fields. Kiso Sansen Park, named for the three rivers, sits in this delta. In a clean monochrome style, the channels read like long brushstrokes across the sheet.
The Kiso, Nagara and Ibi run almost parallel here, and their broad channels make up the strongest lines on any map of Kaizu.
Historic ring dikes enclosed villages and farmland against flooding. They left a landscape of protected, low-lying land that still shapes the area's layout.
Between the rivers, rectangular fields and drainage channels create a fine, regular texture that contrasts with the sweep of the water.

Koteā ko Kaizu
This is a map of engineering and patience, where people shaped a low delta so they could live and farm on it. It suits anyone from Kaizu or the Nōbi Plain, and anyone who is drawn to rivers and the way people manage them.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and Blueprint in particular suits the channels and levees. It comes as a $9 digital file or a printed poster.
