Te mapa
Kakhovka lies in Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine, on the left bank of the Dnipro. For decades it stood on the shore of the Kakhovka Reservoir, a vast body of water created by the dam at nearby Nova Kakhovka. The town's streets run in a largely regular grid back from the waterfront toward the steppe behind.
In June 2023 the dam was destroyed and the reservoir drained, leaving a wide exposed basin where open water had been. Maps drawn from older data can still show the reservoir, while the ground itself has changed. That shift makes the relationship between the town and the river one of the most striking features of its plan.
A Kakhovka map poster records a place whose outline is tied to the Dnipro. For people from the town and from the Kherson region, the familiar grid near the water is a way of keeping home present, whatever has happened to the landscape around it.
The town faces the river and the former reservoir. The waterline, or its old edge, is the most important boundary on the map.
Behind the waterfront the streets form mostly straight, regular blocks that extend inland toward the open steppe.
Beyond the built area the land opens into flat southern Ukrainian farmland, crossed by long straight roads and field boundaries.

Koteā ko Kakhovka
For many Ukrainians away from home, a map of Kakhovka is a way of holding on to a specific place: a street, a school, a view of the water. A plain, respectful black-and-white design suits that kind of memory.
You can add a title and subtitle, in Ukrainian or English, and keep or adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, with printed posters available from partners in more than 30 countries.
