West of the town the land rises sharply. The street network ends along a clear line, leaving an open edge on the poster that marks the start of the hills.

Te mapa
Kalemyo, also known as Kalay, sits in the Sagaing Region of northwestern Myanmar. It lies in a broad valley, with the Chin Hills rising steeply to the west. On the map the town spreads over the flat valley floor. Its roads are fairly straight and there is plenty of space between them, and at the edges the built area gives way to farmland.
The town is an important link between the lowlands and the hill country of Chin State. Roads leave it heading into the hills and along the valley north and south. That role as a gateway has shaped how Kalemyo grew, with markets and transport routes pulling development toward the main roads.
A Kalemyo map poster shows a valley town at the foot of the mountains. Its streets form a loose grid on open ground, and the hills to the west are hinted at by where the network stops. Clean lines and wide spacing make for a calm, uncluttered composition.
West of the town the land rises sharply. The street network ends along a clear line, leaving an open edge on the poster that marks the start of the hills.
On flat ground the streets follow a loose, fairly regular pattern. Blocks are larger and more widely spaced than in older, denser Myanmar towns.
Main roads leave town toward the hills and along the valley. They are the strongest lines in the design and show Kalemyo's role as a regional link.

Koteā ko Kalemyo
For people from Kalemyo and the surrounding Chin and Sagaing communities, including those who have moved abroad, the map is a steady reminder of home. It keeps the streets and valley setting in view.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to suit, perhaps with a family name or the year you left. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand gives the valley setting a soft, warm tone.
