Te mapa
Kamaterón is a suburb in the northwest of the Athens urban area, part of the municipality of Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero. It sits on the lower slopes rising towards the Aigaleo hills, which form the western edge of the Athens basin. From above, it is part of the continuous fabric of the city, with its own dense neighbourhood grid.
The map shows short blocks of apartment buildings and houses, with streets that follow the terrain as the ground climbs. Main roads link the suburb to central Athens and to the motorway network, while the hillside to the west quickly turns into open, lightly built ground, giving the neighbourhood a clear edge.
A Kamaterón map poster captures a very Athenian kind of place: an everyday residential suburb with a strong sense of local identity, framed by the mountains that enclose the basin. In black and white, the fine street pattern and the empty hillsides make an effective contrast.
Small blocks and closely spaced streets fill most of the map, typical of the apartment-lined neighbourhoods of western Athens.
To the west, the street pattern thins out as the ground rises towards the Aigaleo hills, leaving a clean boundary between suburb and hillside.
Main roads connect Kamaterón to central Athens and the surrounding suburbs, drawing longer lines through the otherwise compact grid.

Koteā ko Kamaterón
Kamaterón is a place people live in rather than visit, and a map of it speaks to those who grew up there, studied there or bought their first flat there. It feels personal in a way a map of central Athens rarely does.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for instance with your street or a year, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
