Te mapa
Kāro lies in Jharkhand's Bokaro district, in the coal-bearing country along the Damodar valley. This landscape was shaped by industry more than by planning. On a map, settlements, colliery areas and railway sidings sit close together, linked by roads that follow the terrain rather than a grid. The pattern looks scattered, with clusters of streets separated by open ground and worked land.
The wider region is one of India's long-established coalfields, and the Damodar River and its tributaries run through it from west to east. Housing colonies, markets and older village cores sit side by side. Each has its own small street pattern, so the map reads as a string of neighbourhoods rather than one centre.
A Kāro map poster captures that working geography honestly. It shows the gaps between clusters, the lines of the roads and railways that tie them together, and the river country beyond. For people who grew up in the colonies of the coal belt, it shows home as it actually is.
Separate groups of streets appear across the map, often laid out in tidy rows. They show where housing grew up around places of work.
Railway lines and main roads cross the area between the clusters. These long, continuous strokes give the composition its structure.
The Damodar valley's rivers and streams wind through the district. They add soft, irregular lines to an otherwise industrial landscape.

Koteā ko Kāro
Many families have lived and worked in the Bokaro coalfield for generations, and a map of Kāro keeps that connection on the wall. Personalise the title with a colony name, a family surname or the year you moved, and add a subtitle underneath.
Noir suits the industrial character well, and Classic black & white keeps the scattered clusters legible. Paper, Sand and Blueprint offer calmer alternatives. The HD files come in six print sizes, ready for a local print shop.
