Te mapa
Kāsaragod is the headquarters of Kerala's northernmost district, on the Arabian Sea coast close to the border with Karnataka. The long, straight shoreline forms one side of the map, and the Chandragiri River winds to the sea along the town's southern edge. Between them, the streets spread inland over low ground interspersed with coconut palms.
The district is known for being multilingual. Malayalam, Tulu, Kannada, Konkani and Beary are all spoken here, reflecting its position between two states. Several historic forts stand along this coast, including the Chandragiri Fort above the river and, farther south in the district, the large seaside fort at Bekal.
A Kāsaragod map poster shows the meeting of land, river and ocean. The coastline gives a clean edge, the river adds a soft curve, and the town's streets fill the space in between. National Highway 66 runs through as a steady line connecting the coast north and south.
The river winds through the southern side of town to the sea. Its curving line is the most prominent natural feature on the map.
A long, fairly straight shoreline runs along the western edge. It gives the poster a strong boundary between built land and open water.
The main north-south highway passes through the town and links it to Mangaluru and southern Kerala. It forms a long line parallel to the coast.

Koteā ko Kāsaragod
Kāsaragod families live across India and the Gulf, and many of them miss this stretch of coast. A map of the town is a quiet link to the river, the sea and the language of home.
