Te mapa
Katangi is a small town in the south-east of Madhya Pradesh, close to the border with Maharashtra. From above it reads as a dense core of irregular lanes, with roads leaving in several directions toward villages and fields. There is no formal grid; the pattern grew from routes between neighbouring settlements and the local market.
The surrounding landscape is agricultural, with a patchwork of fields, small water tanks and scattered tree cover typical of this part of central India. The town serves as a local centre for the villages around it, and its road network reflects that role, with lines converging on the middle from the open country.
A Katangi map poster keeps that simple structure clear: a tight knot of streets, a few longer roads reaching outward, and the soft edges where houses give way to farmland. It is a modest plan, and the black-and-white treatment lets its informal, organic shape stand on its own.
The oldest part of Katangi is a close weave of narrow, irregular lanes. On the map it forms the darkest area of the print, with no straight axis dominating the pattern.
Several roads leave the centre toward surrounding villages and farmland. They give the plan a loose star shape and show how the town works as a meeting point for the area.
Where the houses stop, the map opens into field boundaries and occasional water tanks. That transition from street to farmland is gradual and gives the print a soft, uneven border.
