Te mapa
Kayan lies in the eastern part of Yangon Region, on the low, level plain east of the city of Yangon. Seen from above, the town is a modest cluster of streets surrounded by wide agricultural ground. Waterways thread through the fields, and roads lead out toward neighbouring townships. The absence of hills gives the map an even, horizontal calm.
Like many towns in lower Myanmar, Kayan grew as a local centre for the surrounding farming villages, and that relationship is visible on a map. There is a denser core where roads meet, then a gradual thinning into scattered settlements and cultivated land. Channels and creeks cut across the plain, a reminder of how much water shapes this part of the country.
A Kayan map poster reduces the scene to line and space. Streets gather into a small knot at the centre, water lines curve through the surrounding plain, and the long straight roads that connect the town to the wider region give the composition its direction. It is an understated map, closer to a drawing of a landscape than to a crowded city plan.
The main roads converge in the middle of Kayan, forming the densest part of the map. This is the natural anchor of the composition before the street pattern opens out.
Waterways wind across the flat land around the town, adding soft curved lines that contrast with the straighter roads and field edges typical of lower Myanmar.
Broad stretches of cultivated plain surround the settlement, leaving generous white space on the poster and making the town itself read as a compact, clearly defined shape.

Koteā ko Kayan
For people with family roots in Kayan or memories of the countryside east of Yangon, this map is a personal record of a place rarely seen in print. Its quiet layout works well in a study, a hallway or next to old family photographs.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a year, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files come in six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF, and printed posters are also available.
