Te mapa
Kefamenanu is the capital of North Central Timor regency, in the Indonesian half of the island of Timor. It sits inland on hilly ground, and the map reflects that: streets bend around slopes rather than following a strict grid, and the town spreads along ridges and shallow valleys. The main road across the island passes through, linking Kupang in the west with Atambua in the east.
The centre is compact, with government buildings, markets and schools gathered along a handful of main streets. Around it, residential lanes branch off irregularly and quickly give way to open, hilly land used for farming and grazing. The regency borders the Oecusse enclave of Timor-Leste to the north, so roads toward the border add their own lines to a wider framing.
Kefamenanu is a regional centre for the Atoni people of central Timor, and it is home to Universitas Timor, which draws students from across the region. A Kefamenanu map poster shows the town in the plain, careful manner of a topographic sheet, its curving streets and ridge roads laid out without labels or clutter.
The main road across the island runs through Kefamenanu, a long line that enters from one side of the frame and leaves from the other, tying the town to Kupang and Atambua.
Streets curve around slopes and follow ridges instead of forming a grid, giving the map a flowing, organic texture that shows the terrain even without contour lines.
Markets, offices and schools are grouped along a few main streets in the middle of town, the densest and most recognisable part of the plan.
