Te mapa
Kemisē is a town in the Amhara region of Ethiopia, serving as the administrative centre of the Oromia Special Zone. It lies on the main road that runs north from Addis Ababa towards Dessie, and from above the town takes its shape largely from that route, with streets branching off to either side.
The surrounding landscape is hilly and agricultural, on the eastern side of the Ethiopian highlands, where the ground begins to fall towards the Rift Valley lowlands. Fields and small settlements spread out beyond the built-up area, so the map shows a dense centre fading quickly into open country.
A Kemisē map poster is a simple, honest record of a working town. The line of the main road, the market streets and the scattered outer neighbourhoods are enough to make a clear composition, and the empty ground around them gives the print a sense of space.
The main highway between Addis Ababa and Dessie runs through town and forms its backbone, with most streets tied to it in some way.
Commercial and administrative buildings cluster tightly along the road, forming the densest part of the map before housing loosens outward.
Beyond the last streets, the map opens onto farmland and hills, a reminder that the town sits on the edge of the escarpment.

Koteā ko Kemisē
For people from Kemisē living in Addis Ababa or abroad, a map of the town is a quiet way to keep home in view. It works as a gift for parents, a marker for a family story, or simply a reminder of where things began.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a year. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, depending on whether you want a stark or a warmer print.
