Keskin is a district town in Kırıkkale Province, in the heart of central Anatolia. From above it looks like many towns of the plateau: a compact built-up area with streets that bend and branch in a slightly irregular pattern, surrounded on all sides by wide fields, dry hills and long country roads.
The landscape of the high steppe gives the map its character. Cultivated land stretches in large parcels, roads link the town to neighbouring villages and to the provincial centre, and the town itself stands out as a small, dense island of streets in open country.
