Te mapa
Kibaigwa lies in Kongwa District of Dodoma Region, on the main highway between Dar es Salaam and Dodoma. It is known for its grain market, the Kibaigwa International Grain Market, where maize from the surrounding farmland is traded and sent on to buyers elsewhere in Tanzania and beyond. Much of the town's growth has followed that trade.
The map reflects this role. The highway runs straight through, with the densest streets close to it and the market area forming a clear focus. Residential blocks spread out on either side in a fairly regular pattern, then loosen into farm plots and open land, part of the broad, dry plateau of central Tanzania.
A Kibaigwa map poster suits traders, farmers and families connected to the market, and anyone who has travelled the road to Dodoma and remembers the town. It is a portrait of a place that grew because of what passes through it, drawn in simple lines with the highway and the market district at its heart.
The main road from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma runs straight through town, the backbone of the map from which almost every other street branches.
The market district forms the most concentrated part of the town plan, the reason Kibaigwa grew and the natural focal point of the poster.
Beyond the built-up area, flat farmland fills the frame, leaving wide open space around the compact and clearly defined street pattern.
