Te mapa
Koropí lies in the Mesogeia plain of eastern Attica, on the far side of Mount Hymettus from Athens. For centuries this was farming country known for its vineyards and olive groves, and the older part of town still has a compact core of irregular streets around its churches and main square.
In recent decades the landscape around it has changed quickly. Main roads link the plain to Athens and to the international airport nearby, and new housing, businesses and warehouses have spread over what was farmland. On a map, the dense old centre, scattered plots and broad transport corridors now sit side by side.
A Koropí map poster records this transition in one frame. Irregular historic streets lie in the middle, fields and vineyards still show in the gaps, and the slopes of Hymettus rise at one edge. The result is a layered, varied print that is typical of the Mesogeia today.
Around the main square and churches, narrow streets follow an irregular, older pattern. They form the densest, most intricate part of the map.
The mountain rises to the west, and its lower slopes shape the edge of town. They leave a calm, open area on that side of the print.
Remaining vineyards and fields across the plain appear as small rectangular patches. They give the outer map a texture that recalls the area's farming past.
