Te mapa
Kōshū lies in Yamanashi Prefecture on the eastern edge of the Kofu Basin, where the flat valley floor gives way to mountains. From above, the map is shaped by fan-shaped slopes and river valleys, with streets and villages spread among vineyards and orchards rather than packed into a single centre.
The area is one of Japan's best-known wine regions. The Katsunuma district, part of the city, is associated with the Koshu grape, a variety long grown in Yamanashi and now used for white wines. The city is also home to Erin-ji, a temple linked with the warlord Takeda Shingen.
A Kōshū map poster reveals a pattern shaped by agriculture and terrain. Winding roads follow the slopes, small clusters of buildings sit among the vineyards and the mountains frame the eastern edge. In black and white, the result is a detailed, textured image with a strong sense of landscape.
Vineyards and orchards cover the gentle alluvial fans around the basin. On the map they form a soft background woven with narrow farm roads.
The Katsunuma area is central to Kōshū's winemaking. Its settlements and roads cluster on the slopes facing the basin.
Steep mountains rise along the east of the city. On the poster, the roads thin out and give way to open space as the terrain climbs.

Koteā ko Kōshū
Kōshū posters appeal to wine lovers, travellers who have toured Yamanashi's wineries and families from the region. The pattern of slopes and farm roads makes a quiet, detailed piece for a kitchen or dining room.
