Te mapa
Kursk stands on the Central Russian Upland, where the small Tuskar River flows into the Seym. The historic centre occupies high ground between the two valleys, and from above the town has a clear structure: a main avenue follows the ridge, while side streets drop toward the floodplains on either side. Beyond the rivers, residential districts spread out in the broad rectangular blocks of the Soviet period.
The name is known far beyond Russia because of the Battle of Kursk in 1943, one of the largest armoured battles of the Second World War, fought across the surrounding countryside. The region is also known for the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly, a vast deposit of iron ore under the fields that has shaped the local economy for decades.
On a Kursk map poster the river valleys do most of the drawing. The Seym curves across the south of the city in soft loops and green floodplain, the Tuskar cuts a narrower line, and the older quarter sits compactly on the high ground between them, with the grid of later neighbourhoods fanning out beyond.
The Seym and the Tuskar meet below the city centre, and their wide, low floodplains split the urban area into distinct parts joined by bridges.
The oldest streets stand on high ground between the valleys, so the central avenue forms a strong spine with lanes stepping down on both sides.
Newer neighbourhoods fill the surrounding plateau in large regular blocks, giving the outer map a calmer, more geometric rhythm than the centre.

Koteā ko Kursk
Kursk is a city of family roots, student years and military memory, and a map is a quiet way to keep all three. The rivers and the ridge make a composition that looks settled and balanced on a wall.
Add a title, a subtitle with a name or date, and your own coordinates line. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint works especially well with the city's clear lines.
