Te mapa
La Chorrera is the capital of Panamá Oeste province, lying west of the Panama Canal on the road from Panama City toward the interior. Its name comes from El Chorro, a waterfall near the town. From above, La Chorrera appears as a large, sprawling town, with an older centre of regular streets surrounded by many newer residential developments spreading across gently rolling land.
The Pan-American Highway runs through the town and connects it across the canal toward Panama City, while roads lead south to the Pacific coast and to the small port area at Puerto Caimito. La Chorrera is known across Panama for chicheme, a sweet corn drink, and for its annual fair, which draws visitors from across the country.
A La Chorrera map poster captures a town that has grown quickly as part of the wider Panama City region, while keeping a strong local identity. The long highway line, the dense central grid and the web of newer streets around it make a detailed and varied composition, readable both as a portrait of a place and as a map of growth.
The main highway crosses La Chorrera from east to west, linking it toward Panama City and forming the strongest line on the map.
The older core of town is laid out in a regular grid of streets, contrasting with the looser patterns of the newer developments around it.
Roads lead south from the town toward the coast and Puerto Caimito, extending the map toward the edge of the Pacific.
