Te mapa
La Palma is one of the smallest cities in Orange County, California, lying on the county's northwestern edge beside Los Angeles County. From above, it forms a compact, almost square shape bounded by wide arterial roads. Inside, residential streets curve and loop in the style of postwar Southern California suburbs.
The city has an unusual history. It was incorporated in the 1950s as Dairyland, when the area was known for dairy farming. It took the name La Palma in the 1960s as homes replaced the pastures. A central park and civic buildings sit near the middle of the city and give the plan a clear focus.
A La Palma map poster shows how a planned suburb fits neatly into the wider Los Angeles grid. The straight arterials frame the city like a border, and the gentle curves of the residential streets fill the space inside. The result is balanced and orderly.
Wide, straight roads mark La Palma's edges. On the map they form a crisp frame that separates the city from its neighbours.
Inside the frame, residential streets bend into loops and cul-de-sacs. The pattern is typical of the suburbs that replaced the former dairy farms.
A park and civic buildings sit near the heart of the city. They create an open space at the centre of the street network.

Koteā ko La Palma
This map is for people who grew up in La Palma or raised a family there. The city's compact outline makes it easy to find your own street. It is a personal piece of Southern California's suburban story.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, for example with a family name or a moving-in year. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand gives the California grid a warmer tone.
