Te mapa
La Vista is a city in Sarpy County, Nebraska, on the southwestern edge of the Omaha metropolitan area. It began in the 1950s as a planned residential development and was incorporated in 1960, and its map still shows that origin clearly. Curving streets and cul-de-sacs fill neighbourhoods bounded by straight section-line roads.
Arterial roads divide the city into large, rectangular blocks following the survey grid of the Great Plains, and inside those blocks the residential streets loop and bend. Interstate 80 runs to the north, and creeks with green corridors cut through the landscape, adding softer lines to the drawing.
A La Vista map poster shows a characteristic American suburb: a disciplined outer grid holding a softer, more organic pattern inside it. The contrast makes a surprisingly graphic image, well suited to a family who has made a home in one of these neighbourhoods.

Inside each large block, residential streets curve and end in cul-de-sacs. The patterns look almost decorative from above.
Green strips along the creeks wind between the neighbourhoods. They break up the geometry and bring some natural movement into the composition.
