Te mapa
Lagkadás sits north-east of Thessaloniki, on the edge of the wide Mygdonia basin. On a map the town lies where the flat plain meets the first hills, with a compact centre and streets that climb gently up the slopes. To the south-east the plain stretches toward Lake Koroneia, and main roads run out toward Thessaloniki and the towns of the Macedonian interior.
The town is best known for the Anastenaria, a fire-walking ritual performed each year around the feast of Saints Constantine and Helen, when participants dance barefoot on hot coals. Lagkadás is also known for its thermal springs, which have been used for bathing for a very long time. These traditions give the town an identity much larger than its size would suggest.
A Lagkadás map poster shows the town at the meeting point of plain and hill: dense streets in the centre, looser roads on the slopes and the open basin around it. In black and white the contrast between the built core and the flat farmland stands out, making a print that feels spacious and firmly Macedonian.
The town sits where the Mygdonia plain meets the hills, so the map moves from open farmland to rising streets in a single frame.
The flat land south-east of the town leads toward Lake Koroneia, part of the lake basin that defines this area.
Main roads link Lagkadás with Thessaloniki and the interior, drawing clear lines across the plain from the town centre.

Koteā ko Lagkadás
Lagkadás means something to people who grew up with its festivals, its springs and its market days, and to Thessaloniki families with roots in the villages around it. A map of the town holds all of that in a simple, lasting form.
