Te mapa
Limay is on the eastern side of the Bataan Peninsula in Central Luzon, facing Manila Bay. From above, the town follows a narrow coastal strip. The Roman Superhighway runs parallel to the shore, and the town centre sits between the road and the water, with streams coming down from the hills to the bay.
Limay is one of the main industrial areas in the region. The Petron Bataan refinery and several power stations line the coast, and their large, rectilinear sites contrast sharply with the fine residential streets nearby. Jetties and piers extend into the bay, adding short straight lines to the shoreline.
Inland, the land rises toward the slopes of the Mariveles mountains, and the grid gives way to farmland and forest. Bataan's Second World War history is close by, with memorials across the peninsula. A Limay map poster shows a working waterfront against the calm backdrop of Manila Bay.
The coast runs down the eastern edge of the map with piers and jetties extending into the water. It gives the poster a clean, open side.
The refinery and power stations occupy large, geometric sites along the coast. On the map their blocky outlines stand out beside the smaller town streets.
The main road down the peninsula runs parallel to the bay through Limay. It is the spine of the town, linking it north and south.
