Te mapa
Cavite City occupies a slender, curved peninsula projecting into Manila Bay from the province of Cavite. On a map it is unmistakable: a thin strip of land that bends like a hook, with open bay on one side and a sheltered inner harbour on the other. The streets are tightly packed, following the shape of the land from the mainland out to its tip.
The sheltered anchorage made the site important under Spanish rule, when a naval yard and fortifications were built here, and it later hosted American and Philippine naval installations. Sangley Point, at the seaward end, has long been associated with naval and air facilities. The city played a role in the Philippine Revolution, and nearby Kawit saw the declaration of independence in 1898.
A Cavite City map poster makes the most of its extraordinary outline. The dense web of streets fills the curve of the peninsula, and the surrounding water frames it almost completely, producing one of the most graphic compositions among Philippine cities, one that stands out even in the pared-back Classic style.
The peninsula curves out into Manila Bay in a distinctive hook, so the entire city reads as a single shape outlined by water on the poster.
At the outer end of the peninsula, Sangley Point holds a wide open area of airfield and naval land, a clear contrast to the dense streets nearby.
The curve of the peninsula encloses a sheltered bay on its inner side, the natural anchorage that made Cavite a strategic port for centuries.

Koteā ko Cavite City
Few cities have a silhouette as clear as Cavite City, and people with roots there often recognise it instantly. A map poster turns that outline into a piece that works both as a personal keepsake and as a strong graphic print.
