Te mapa
Makati City is the financial centre of Metro Manila, and its map is built around a sharp contrast. In the middle sits the central business district, where Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue form a triangle of wide roads lined with towers and walkways. EDSA, the great ring highway of the capital, crosses the city on a long diagonal.
South of the business district lie Forbes Park, Dasmariñas and other gated villages, where streets curl and loop in private, low-density patterns alongside the Manila Golf Club. To the north the older Poblacion, the original town centre, sits near the Pasig River, which traces a winding boundary with neighbouring Mandaluyong.
Much of modern Makati was developed from a former hacienda owned by the Zobel de Ayala family, which explains the planned look of its core. A Makati City map poster shows these layers side by side: the triangle of commerce, the tight grain of Poblacion and the looping lanes of the villages, each distinct even without colour.
Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue meet around the Ayala Triangle Gardens. The shape is small on the map but instantly recognisable at the heart of the grid.
The capital's main highway crosses Makati on a long diagonal. On the poster it forms a bold line that separates the business district from the neighbourhoods beyond it.
South of the towers, private villages such as Forbes Park wind in loops and cul-de-sacs, a softer, curving texture that sets them apart from the straight avenues nearby.

Koteā ko Makati City
Makati is where many people started their first job, signed a lease on a first condo or spent long evenings after work in Poblacion. A map of the city marks that chapter with the calm clarity of a well-planned street plan.
